WE'RE HOOKERS ON THE EDGE!

WEEK 31 THE EDGING

***POSTED BEFORE OFFICIAL END TO ALLOW THOSE WHO HAVE SPED AHEAD TO FINISH !*****

Putting a border on your blanket really finishes it off....it can also hide a multitude of sins, so if yours is a little 'wavy' or 'wonky' around the edges,  this can do wonders! I have not blocked mine yet but it is possible to do so if you wish - pin it out tight and straight on a flat surface then spray well with cold water. Leave it to dry naturally and admire the end result!

EDGING ROUNDS

1) (USING MC), Join to bottom RHS of blanket by joining around the post of the 1st treble. Now work up the long right side, first working 2ch (counts as a htr), then work 1 htr in gap around the next tr, then 2 htrs for every tr and 1 htr for every dc along whole length, working 1 htr in the last tr, then fasten off.

Rejoin yarn on bottom left hand side and repeat round 1 for the other long side. Fasten off.

2) (Denim) Join new yarn to top right of blanket and work 1 htr in every treble along the short edge, work (2 htr 2ch 2 htr) in last st (=corner), 1 htr in every htr along the long side then repeat long bottom and second long side working the corners as before. Slip stitch to join. Fasten off.

3)  (Cream) Ch3, miss 1 st, *1dc in next st, ch2, miss 1 st, ch2, rep from * to corners, working (2 dc 2ch 2dc) in corner spaces. Slsttj.

4) (Denim) Ch2, 1 dc in next ch-sp, * ch2, 1dc in next ch-sp. rep from * repeating corners from Round 3. Slsttj.

5) (Storm blue) Ch2, now work 2 htr in every ch-sp and (2htr, 2 ch, 2 htr) in each corner space. Slsttj.

Fasten off and weave in all ends.
